Common Cow-Calf Crop Diseases
To better understand the many vaccines available to beef cattle producers, we will discuss the diseases that these vaccines are designed to provide resistances for. There are generally three organisms which can cause cattle diseases: viruses, bacteria, and internal and external parasites.
Cattle that contract any disease become weak and are susceptible to further viral and bacterial invasions which can cause a downward spiral possibly leading to death. Calves are particularly vulnerable to these diseases during branding and castration.
